GrooveTown was born out of a love for Disco and House Music.
Originally started by the founder Joe Truby back in 2019 to provide the citizens of West Oxfordshire somewhere to go dancing and hear the classic Disco sounds of the 70's and 80s mixed with funk, motown plus classic and modern house.
The original concept was to only do a maximum of 3 events a year, however due to the popularity there were 7 GrooveTown events in the first year! Sadly the live events were then halted by the arrival of COVID-19, although not wanting to let the crowd down, events were moved online in the form of live broadcasts!
Post COVID, Andy Smith joined the team to help push the event further than it's ever been. Andy has a wealth of experience having been a DJ and promoter for 33 years playing at clubs around the world including Cafe Mambo, Ministry of Sound, SW1 and organising festivals before there were festivals!
GrooveTown now continues at its spiritual home at Fat Lils in Witney with regular events throughout the year plus involvement in the Witney Music Festival and their own summer events in Hailey.
